John – also originally from New Jersey - took up the drums at an early age and played in his school band and orchestra. Growing up he was heavily influenced by the country rock bands of the 70s such as Pure Prairie League, Eagles, and Poco, which then progressed into a passion for bluegrass and all types of country music.
